Fall Friends Event

Friends of the Greenfield Public Library Annual Fall Event


Saturday November 3, 2007 5:00 -7:00 pm Stoneleigh Burnham School

** Hale Johnson’s “Meadowbrook” print—last chance to purchase raffle tickets for this gorgeous print donated by Hale. Winner will be drawn during of the evening.

** Farewell to Dianne Ryan--toasting the tenure of our wonderful library director who is retiring this year.

** Silent auction—of over 40 gift baskets. Themes include sports, dogs, gardening, cooking, birds, knitting, wellness and kids ($50+ value).

** Live auction -- 2008 Red Sox Tickets donated by Trenholm Electric

Hors d’oeurves will be provided by Hope & Olive. Wine, beer and soft drinks will be provided by Ryan & Casey, People’s Pint and other generous donors. We are also awarding door prizes of $50.00 to Hope & Olive.


Tickets are $15.00 and are available at the library, contacting the Friends at fgpl402main@hotmail.com or by mailing a check payable to the FGPL 402 Main St., Greenfield, MA 01301.

This story came from the AP. Across the country, towns are trying to save money by outsourcing their libraries to private companies. The results are not always good for patrons.
