Website adjustments

As you may have noticed, our home page looks a little bit different these days. We are adjusting the locations of things on our site to make it easier for you to navigate and find things.

Let us know what you think.

New Databases

With your C/W MARS library card, you can now have at-home access to two more databases for free. In addition to the databases we offer on our Online Resources page, the C/W MARS network has purchased the following for our patrons:

Grove Art Online provides web access to the entire text of The Dictionary of Art, ed. Jane Turner (1996, 34 vols.) and The Oxford Companion to Western Art, ed. Hugh Brigstocke (2001). It offers ongoing additions of new and updated articles, over 2,500 thumbnail art images and line drawings displayed in the text of articles, extensive image links, and sophisticated search and navigation tools.

Science Online is a complete reference database containing thousands of entries covering animal anatomy, anthropology and archaeology, astronomy and space technology, atomic physics, biochemistry, biology, botany, chemistry, computer science, earth science, environmental science, general science, genetics, health and medicine, human anatomy and physiology, marine science, physics, and weather and climate. These Diagrams, Definitions, Biographies, Essays, and Experiments are cross-referenced through hyperlinks and are searchable by keyword, topic, and year. In addition, the site includes a Timeline dating from the big bang to the present.

Do your research in the library or at home!

Spring Bouquets Are Back!

Celebrate Groundhog Day and support the Friends of the Greenfield Public Library! The 4th Annual Friends Spring Bouquet Sale has started!

Bring a little bit of spring into your life and brighten up those cold winter days by purchasing spring bouquets. This year the Friends are offering The Gardener's Bouquet, a colorful mix of spring garden flowers featuring a giant gerbera or a stargazer lily for $10.00 per bouquet. Pre-paid orders must be received by Friday, January 20th. Checks can be made out to the Friends of the Greenfield Public Library and sent to FGPL, 402 Main Street, Greenfield MA 01301, or an order form can be completed at the library.

Orders will be available for pick up on Thursday and Friday February 2nd from 12 - 5 pm in the LeVanway Meeting Room in the library's basement.

If you loved last year's bouquets, you'll want even more this year! This event is sponsored by the Friends of the GPL.
