Digital TV

Sorry for the long time with no blog entries. Libraries are incredibly busy places these days!

Anyway, here's something we learned at GPL that may come in handy for some of you when Digital TV goes live:

Re the upcoming switch to digital TV, I'd think libraries would be a good way to get some information out. Especially noteworthy is the offer of up to two $40 coupons per household for converter boxes. I'd hate to think of free money not being gotten, just because someone didn't know about it.

http://www.dtv.gov/index.html includes FAQs, an Outreach Toolkit, and publications in English and Spanish.

http://www.ntia.doc.gov/dtvcoupon/ includes information about the coupon program and brochures in several languages.

This comes courtesy of the PUBLIB listserv.
