Virtual Catalog Live in Greenfield!

Have you tried to find that one special book in the libraries in Western MA, but no one seems to own it? Did you continue your search in the C/W MARS Union Catalog to no avail? Take heart! Another option is open to you!

Once you are in the C/W MARS Union Catalog, you can click on the link to the Virtual Catalog at the top of the green screen. (NOTE: if what you want is available in C/W MARS, you cannot request it through the Virtual Catalog.) All you do is enter your region (Western), your library card number, and pickup location. Click on the Searching/Requesting button, then enter what you are looking for. Once you have found the item you want, click Request, Create Request, and Submit Request. If your item is available in Massachusetts, the Virtual Catalog will place it on hold for you and have it sent here. It's that simple! Really.

We hope you enjoy your Virtual Catalog experience.

I can't find out how to get into the catalog.

It says click on the link at the top of the green screen, where there IS no link.

The green screen appears later in the process. You can get into our catalog by clicking on either the blue "catalog" button or the words "online catalog" that appear under the picture of our smiling staff. Once in our catalog, you can search all Western MA libraries by using the drop-down menu in the third of the white boxes near the top of the screen. You can also search ALL C/W MARS libraries by clicking on the C/W MARS Union Catalog button next to the search history button. This will get you to the green screen.

Under the words C/W MARS Union Catalog, you will find a link to the Virtual Catalog.

I hope this helps. If not, feel free to call or come in, and we can show you how to do this.
